LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, has launched LinkedIn Placements in India. The aim of it is making it easier for graduating students across the nation to find their first jobs easily. In fact, LinkedIn Placements was developed locally by more than 40 LinkedIn employees, which enables students to apply for jobs from anywhere and anytime and stay informed. The professional network is piloting Linkedin Placements first in the country.
According to the head, engineering, LinkedIn India, Ganesan Venakatasubramanian, “Our conversations with students, placement officers and recruiters involved in campus recruitment point to an unmet need for efficiency and effectiveness,”.
Further, LinkedIn, which operates in over 200 countries and territories said that paid membership income on its website has increased 21 percent. Whereas, revenue from advertisements has rose 28 percent.
LinkedIn, which operates the largest social networking site for professionals, has also started to roll out the new messaging service for those who use English language, accessing its platform through an app or via a desktop.
Moreover, users can attach photos and documents also to messages. LinkedIn also said it was looking at offering voice and video calling with the messaging platform in the future.
