Lava P7 launched with guaranteed upgrade to Android Marshmallow for RS 5,499

Indian handset maker, Lava has launched its latest budget smartphone- the Lava P7. The Lava P7 has been priced at Rs. 5,499 and is available at all national retail stores, multi-brand outlets as well as online retailers.  

The Lava P7 comes with a 5 inch FWVGA IPS capacitive touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset is available in Blue, White and Gold colour options.

On the software front, the Lava P7 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with a guaranteed upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor along with 1 GB of RAM. Additionally, the smartphone packs an 8 GB of inbuilt storage that can further be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. On the plus side, the Lava P7 features the latest Google Indic keyboard which supports 12 Indian languages.

The camera section of the Lava P7 comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel front camera. Both cameras are equipped with LED flashes. Other camera features include Child Mode, Panorama, Voice Capture, Live Photo, Face Beauty and HD video recording. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports dual 3G SIMs with dual standby, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB. Moreover, the device is fuelled by a 2,000 mAh battery which provides up to 20 hours of talk time, as the company claims. The weight of the handset is just 133 grams.
