Google launches Asus ChromeBit in January at Rs. 7,999

Google, at the Google for India event in New Delhi, has announced that the Asus Chromebit, a pocket computer that runs on Chrome OS would be launched in the country in January. It will be available with a price tag of Rs 7,999.

The Asus Chromebit can easily be connected to the HDMI port on a monitor or a TV to turn it into a desktop PC. The device is powered by Rockchip’s RK3288 quad-core SoC. At the same time, it  packs 2GB of RAM along with 16 GB of inbuilt memory. Now that, it is a Google’s product hence, users will also get free 100 gigabytes of Google Drive Storage.

On the connectivity front, the Asus Chromebit supports Wi-Fi 802, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0. Moreover, the dimensions of the device is 123 x 31 x 17 mm and weighs just 75 grams.
