BSNL, one of the largest Telecom Service providers in the country, has decided to upgrade Broadband speed to minimum 2 Mbps at no additional cost for all the Broadband customers across India from 1 October 2015. In fact, BSNL has already introduced an offer of giving free night calling from BSNL landline  to all operator network from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, which is still going on. Apart from this the company is also giving free incoming roaming services for its mobile customers.

As a matter of fact, BSNL is the first service provider to provide the Broadband Access to the country and BSNL, now, will increase the speed of broadband internet to a minimum of 2 Mbps from the current speed of existing 512 Kbps. The increased internet speed will be applicable to both new and old landline subscribers. In addition, the company is also offering 1Gb free E-Mail box to their customers from 50 Mb mail box.

The facility was launched by Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad. The Telecom Minister, while launching BSNL broadband initiative, also said that telecommunications companies have to find the solution to the call drop issues, as it has become major concern for last a few months. He further added that mobile phone companies must optimize their networks.
