Nokia’s 41MP windows based camera phone Lumia 1020 was officially launched in an event in New York , USA. While its launch in India is yet to be announced , you can buy Lumia 1020 in the U.S. at a price of $299.99 on a two-year contract with AT&T from last week of July.The phone will use Microsoft Windows 8 platform as a base to run applications.It will be a 4.5" AMOLED HD+ display phone using Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor by Qualcomm.It will supports resolution of up to 1280×768 for display.The screen will have 2.5 D sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for anti scratching features.Talking about memory , it has , 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.Nokia is also offering 7 GB free SkyDrive cloud storage with Lumia 1020.On a 2000 mAh battery it is claimed to have a Talk-time of 13.3 hours on 3G seems impressive as it is more than iPhone 5.This Nokia windows phone is expected to be launched in three colors black, white and yellow.
The USP of the phone is the 41 MP camera which can record at 1080p.It comes with a xeon flash.The phone can take clear pictures in low light conditions.There is an LED flash for video as well and video zoom is supported upto 6x.The powerful camera phone will have 3X zoom and Zeiss optics with six physical lenses coupled with optical image stabilisation.Its secondary camera comes with wide-angle lens.It will come with 1.2 MP front camera for making 3G video calls over supported network.
The popular social applications like Instagram and Snapchat is supported but via third party providers.Nokia has kept its promise to bring an affordable windows phone to the people but it is yet to be seen how it performs in the market which is dominated by Apple and Samsung.In the Indian context Nokia had launched Pureview 808 at MRP of Rs. 34,999 but it is based on obsolete Symbian Belle OS and Nokia Lumia 1020 launch is eagerly awaited in India.
